Last month, our team travelled to Reykjavík for a photoshoot with photographer Julia Pertek. Reykjavík translates to “Smoky Bay”, a name that couldn’t feel more fitting for the dramatic landscapes that surround the city.

Over a couple of days, we explored hidden corners of Iceland to capture our latest frames in the elements that inspired them. From braving the winds at Kleifarvatn lake, to exploring the lava fields of Eldvörp and the black sands of Stora Sandvik, every location brought a new atmosphere and plenty
of inspiration.

The Icelandic spirit was with us throughout. We even learned Þetta reddast, an Icelandic version of Hakuna Matata – a reminder that everything is going to be alright, no matter what it brings. That came in handy when the roads were blocked following the fresh lava flows, forcing us off-road, or when a sudden gust of wind sent our glasses flying. Thankfully, they’re as durable as they are lightweight – no harm done, just another story for the trip.

Most importantly, the shoot reminded us why we do what we do: creating eyewear that feels at home in nature. Seeing our models wearing the new releases against such elemental backdrops was the perfect way to bring the collection to life.
